Uncovering the Strength in Sensitivity Led Me to a Life of Empowering Others

My career began in the corporate world. Externally I was successful in my career, but internally I was struggling with imposter syndrome, self-criticism, and a relentless drive for perfection. When I discovered that high sensitivity is a known, researched trait that exists in 20% of the population, it was a pivotal moment for me. It reframed my view of sensitivity as a strength and guided me towards my true calling in psychotherapy.

Now, I blend this personal insight with a trauma-informed, attachment-focused approach to help others overcome low self-esteem, people-pleasing, and the complex impacts of trauma. I focus with my clients on building confidence and resilience, quieting anxiety, and embracing one's authentic self. I do so by using a dynamic method rooted in neurobiology and the autonomic nervous system.

My practice is a sanctuary for those feeling 'too much' or 'not enough,' a place where deep understanding meets transformative growth.

Approach

My approach to therapy is founded on the premise that we all have the ability to heal ourselves.

Mind-Body Connection

Psychotherapy is not just about the mind. It's about the body too. I incorporate elements from various therapeutic models to help you understand and address the interconnectedness of your physical, emotional, and mental experiences.

This approach can help release physical and emotional tension, help regulate the nervous system, increase self-awareness, and address the roots of your challenges, rather than just managing symptoms.

Inner Self Exploration

Our minds are complex, containing multiple "parts" or sub-personalities that can sometimes conflict with each other.

Using insights from the Internal Family Systems model, I guide clients in understanding these inner dynamics to access their core self and transform self-limiting parts (for example, parts that are anxious or self-critical).

Relational Focus

Therapy is more than just techniques. I believe that healing happens within a safe, supportive relationship. Using principles from psychodynamic and attachment theories, I collaborate with clients to explore their relational patterns, mend attachment wounds, and understand how past experiences shape current behavior.

By focusing on the 'here and now' dynamics between client and therapist, we can uncover past conditioning that continues to influence present actions.
